Porcelain and composite veneers in Bellevue Hill
Thin facings bonded to the front of the teeth to change shape, shade or alignment where whitening and bonding alone will not achieve the result.
- A diagnostic wax-up or digital preview before any tooth is prepared
- Porcelain and composite options, each with different longevity and cost
- Gum health, bite and grinding assessed first — veneers are not a fix for underlying problems

A practice since 1950
Three generations of the Digges family have cared for patients on Bellevue Road, and many local families have stayed with us from their children's first check-ups through to grandchildren.
Assessment before treatment
Every treatment plan follows a clinical examination and, where needed, imaging. You get options and a written quote, not a sales pitch.
Cover and claiming
Claim on the spot with HICAPS for most private health funds, and we are a CDBS provider for eligible children.
General and specialist care
General, cosmetic, orthodontic, implant and surgical dentistry under one roof, with referral to registered specialists when appropriate.
What veneer treatment involves
Consultation and records
Examination of teeth, gums and bite, photographs and scans. We discuss what is realistically achievable for your teeth.
Design and preview
A digital design or wax-up so you can see and adjust the proposed shape and shade before treatment begins.
Preparation
Where porcelain is used, a small amount of enamel is removed, an impression or scan is taken, and temporary veneers are fitted.
Fit and bond
The veneers are tried in for shape and shade, adjusted, then bonded. Your bite is checked and refined.
Maintenance
Regular check-ups and cleans, and a night guard if you grind, to protect the porcelain and the teeth underneath.

Veneer questions we are asked most
Are veneers reversible?
In most cases no. Where enamel is removed to make room for the veneer, the tooth will always need a veneer or crown on it from that point on. This is one of the most important things to understand before starting.
How long do veneers last?
Porcelain veneers commonly last many years and composite veneers less, but longevity varies widely with your bite, grinding habits, oral hygiene, diet and maintenance. Repair or replacement over a lifetime should be expected.
What are the risks?
Possible risks include tooth sensitivity, the need for root canal treatment if the tooth is already compromised, chipping or debonding, gum irritation, and a shade or shape you are less happy with than expected. These are discussed at consultation.
Will they match my other teeth?
Shade is chosen with you at the design stage. Porcelain does not respond to whitening, so if you plan to whiten your other teeth, that is done before the veneers are made.
How many veneers will I need?
That depends on how many teeth are visible when you smile and what needs changing. It is decided at planning after photographs and a design stage, and it is set out in your written quote.
Can I have veneers if I grind my teeth?
Grinding needs to be managed first. Untreated bruxism significantly increases the chance of chipping or debonding, so a night guard is usually part of the plan.
